Yes. Cabin mate requests must be mutual. Additionally, each camper can only request one mate.
Parents will have the opportunity to submit money, either during the online registration process or upon checking in at camp, for their child to use at the camp store. Dollars will be on credit at the store so your child won’t risk losing their cash. The recommended minimum amount is $15 to cover daily snacks and a couple of small trinkets.
No. Due to our natural surroundings, food/candy and drinks (except water) are not allowed in the cabins. However, campers will enjoy choosing between a variety of snacks in the camp store.

In order for us to seek to accommodate your child’s food needs in the best possible way, all food allergies should be communicated on your child’s medical form.
Our camp kitchen uses products with peanuts, tree nuts, soy, milk, eggs, and wheat. While we take steps to minimize the risk of cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee the absence of it in our foods.
Please contact our registrar if you need to make an arrangement to bring specialty food/snacks for your camper. Instructions for proper labeling of food and check-in process will be given at that time.
A deposit of $110 is required to secure your registration, but is non-refundable for cancellations.
Campers who unexpectantly leave during their program week will not be eligible for any refund.
Yes. Please check our FB events for our Spring Open House date. You can also contact our Registrar for an individual tour.
No. If your camper takes our biking achievement, we will supply the bikes and helmets.
Yes – Our Camp Nurse is available 24/7 for administration of all medications and care for all medical needs that may arise. Additionally, we have other staff members who are trained in CPR, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and AED.
All medications will be turn in to our nurse at registration, along with your child’s medical form. All medication labels should match your Doctor's written descriptions and doses on the form. This will ensure that our nurse can properly care for you child and administer all meds to your child while at camp.
No. All over-the-counter meds must be turned in to our on-site nurse at registration. However, per State of New York, our nurse cannot administer any over-the-counter meds to your child (including Tylenol, poison ivy cream, vitamins, etc.) unless your Doctor has signed your child’s medical form.
In the case of sudden illness (including fever over 100) or injury, every attempt will be made to contact the child’s parent or guardian.
In the case where an ambulance is called to care for your child, your child will be transported to the nearest hospital. A staff member will accompany them in the ambulance to the hospital. The closest hospital is Oswego Hospital (6.6 miles from our grounds). Your child will be transported here unless medical personnel advise otherwise.
The camp may contact a parent in the event a camper is homesick, does not abide by the camp guidelines (see below), or cannot meet daily schedule and/or functions (see below).
Our camp seeks to maintain a positive, respectful, and safe environment. We ask that our campers make this their personal commitment.
Campers are to refrain from the following:
Abusive behavior including bullying or harassment
Destruction to camp or camper property
Use of illegal substances including tobacco, drugs, and alcohol
If the camper cannot adhere to these guidelines, staff will take action to contact their parent/guardian and make a decision that reflects the best interest of the campers and program.
In addition, campers will be held responsible for any damage caused.

OBC cannot accommodate campers who need one-on-one care even if they offer to provide their own caretaker. For other special needs or situations, please contact our Registrar for further information.
Yes. OBC is approved to operate and is inspected at least twice annually by the Department of Health.
Yes. Our camp staff is comprised of Christian individuals who have a heart for children’s ministry and have training and experience in the area in which they serve. All staff are trained in safety, emergencies, camp policies, behavior management, and achievements/games. In addition, some staff have specialized training in lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and AED.
All staff complete a thorough application and are subject to a background check.
