Assistant Director (Operations)
Karen trusted Christ as her Savior in her home church when she was 8 years old. She began her OBC journey as a camper in the late 1960’s. Her OBC journey continued by serving many summers on staff in her teen and adult years, getting married in the OBC tabernacle, watching her children become campers and serve on staff, being blessed to see her grandson begin his journey as a camper, and currently serving on the OBC Board and Camp Staff.
Karen has worked with children throughout her adult life as a foster mother, day care provider, home school Mom, Sunday School teacher, Awana leader, VBS Director and Children’s Musical Director. She has also worked as Kitchen Manager/Head Cook and Events Coordinator at Faith Heritage School, and as Office Manager at Targeted Community Intervention.
She and her husband were two of the founding members of Trinity Baptist Church (1982). In 1992, they co-founded a school, Eliakim Christian Academy, for at-risk youth where Karen was the Principal for 13 years. More recently, they co-owned a café and bakery for several years.
Karen’s passions include: family, children, cooking & baking, OBC, art and Jesus.
